2,5-Bis(2,2,2-trifluoro ethoxy) N-(2-piperidinyl methyl) benzamide acetate of formula (I) is made by (a) reacting 2,5-bis (2,2,2-trifluoro ethoxy) benzoic acid, in its active form, with octahydro-imidazo 1,5-a pyridine or 2-azaindolizioline to obtain the hydrochloride of 3-2,5-bis(2,2,2-trifluoro ethoxy) benzoyl octahydro-imidazo 1,5-a pyridine, and (b) selective hydrolysis to give the salt of the base which on treatment with glacial acetic acid gives the acetate of formula (I).
