PURPOSE:To ensure the transfer to a recording sheet and to enhance an image durability, by providing an accepting layer containing a polyester resin made of a bisphenol A, a carbonic acid, and a phthalic acid on the surface of a sheet- form substrate. CONSTITUTION:An accepting layer of a thermal transfer sheet has a function of accepting a dye migrating from a thermal transferring sheet in printing and fixing the dye. In the accepting layer, a polyester resin made of bisphenol A, carbonic acid, and phthalic acid is used. It is preferable that 90-10mol.% carbonic acid is used in a ratio of carbonic acid and phthalic acid and terephthalic acid or isophthalic acid is used as the phthalic acid. The accepting layer is a 3-50mum thick film containing a resin having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000-150,000. In this manner, a transferred dye is certainly recorded, and a superior durability of a recorded image is obtained. |
