Device for dehydrating loose materials, especially plastic materials in the form of granules, of the type comprising at least one chamber 1 containing the materials to be dehydrated and forming a drier, this drier being connected to means 3 for circulating a fluid, such as air, passing through the bed of granules and thus able to entrain part of the water retained by the granules, in the form of water vapour, the installation also comprising means for drying the air, laden with water vapour, leaving the drier, such as a second chamber 2, 2' containing a bed of active products capable of trapping the water, or a dehydrator, characterised in that the said dehydrator 2, 2' is associated with a recovery system to which it is connected in closed circuit, the recovery system comprising means 13 for extracting the water coming from the water-trapping product bed of the dehydrator, these means being constituted by a condenser 13 connected to the dehydrator 2, 2' and capable of separating the moisture collected after cooling into the state of a condensate. <IMAGE>
