The device comprises: - a bandage-shaped mask 20 of length close to that of the processing roll and movable on a geometric site of movement running between the processing roll and the opening, - a system for driving the mask between a position of retraction in relation to the processing roll corresponding to the closure position of the cradle and a position of partial enclosure of the said processing roll corresponding to the closure position of the cradle and a position of partial enclosure of the said roll between the latter and the loading opening, corresponding to the opening position of the cradle, - and a means for controlling the drive system using the cradle.
