<p>PURPOSE:To easily produce O2-enriched air for oxygen therapy from air in improved stability over a long period, by attaching a multiple poppet valve to a specific means of a pressure-swing adsorption-type oxygen concentrator and repeating the adsorption and desorption procedures. CONSTITUTION:The pressure-swing adsorption-type oxygen concentrator used in the present process is provided with one or more adsorption beds 7 filled with an adsorbent capable of selectively adsorbing O2 or N2, a pump means 1 of a compressor furnished with a valve 2 and a surge tank 11, etc., which is a mean for storing O2-enriched air. A pipe means such as a suction pipe 4b is placed between the pump means 1 and the adsorption bed 7 and/or a multiple poppet valve 3 is placed between the tank 11 and the adsorption bed 7. The multiple poppet valve is a flow-channel change-over valve consisting of a pair of three-way poppet valves integrated with each other. Feed air is introduced through a pipe 4f into the adsorption bed 7 and the pressure of the adsorption bed 7 is varied by operating an automatic shut-off valve 9 and automatically operating the poppet valve 3 by a DC-excited electro-magnetic valve, etc. The adsorption and desorption of N2 are repeated by this process and the O2-enriched air is delivered from the pipe 15.</p> |
