<p>PURPOSE: To absorb the stress generated at the time of solidification and to obtain a product having excellent quality by forming an intermediate flexible layer contg. calcium sulfate and having specific porosity on the surface of ceramics, then casting a metal. CONSTITUTION: A slurry composed of fillers and a liquid vehicle is applied on the surface of a hollow ceramic article 1 and is dried to remove the liquid vehicle. The film formed in such a manner is heated to a high temp. of 700 to 1000 deg.C to form the compliant layer 7 contg. the calcium sulfate and having the porosity of at least 30 vol.%. This article is arranged in a casting mold and molten metal is cast, by which the metal 3 is solidified around the ceramic article 1 having the intermediate flexible layer 7 on the surface. As a result, the product having the excellent quality is obtd.</p> |
