The safety device for a vehicle traveling on pneumatic tyres on icy, wet, slippery or snow covered surfaces, is shaped as a nail. It can be forced through the surface by e.g. a pneumatic hammer. The device has a pointed tip (5) on a stem (4) with a flange (2) underneath a head (1). A part of the stem under the flange has projections (3) round the outside for good anchorage. After a hole has been made in the surface, adhesive can be used.
