PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform automatic detection of the optimum position even for a sample prepared by a wedge method, by using an area, which is computed by a blue signal of an input image corresponding to hemoglobin concentration of red blood cells, and obtaining the optimum inspecting position. CONSTITUTION:An inspecting position setting device is constituted by a stage 3, an optical system 6, a light source 7, an automatic focus adjusting device 8, an image input device 9, an image memory 10, an image processing device 11, an operation control device 12, and the like. A threshold value of the concentration of red blood cells, which dos not yield inspection errors due to dyeing concentration, is set at a specified value. A sample 1, which is prepared by a wedge method, is set on the stage 3, and light from the light source 7 is irradiated. Photoelectric transducing and A/D conversion of a sample image are performed by the image input device 9. The result is stored in the image memory 10. Then, the image is read out of the image memory, and the number of picture elements is added based on the concentration of a blue signal. Thus the desired area is obtained. When the total area exceeds the preset threshold value, the area is outputted as the inspecting position. |
