It is intended to allow an operator to take clean and more accurate samples which can be transported easily and processed in the laboratory in a better fashion by using a specialised device which can be transported easily and which avoids hard manual work. The operator takes samples using a specialised mandrel which operates, for example, in a vibrating manner. The sample is squeezed into a sleeve which, on the one hand, acts as a packaging of the sample immediately after the sampling process and which, on the other hand, can be used as an auxiliary for the immediate recording of characteristic data (for example soil density, moisture content and CO2 content). Immediate packaging of the sample prevents the sample from drying out; the sample does not lose any constituents and can be processed in the laboratory in a space-saving and more accurate manner.
