According to a known design, the blower of an air-cooled reciprocating-piston machine of the in-line type is arranged on the reciprocating-piston machine in such a way that it projects beyond the outer contours of the machine. In contrast, the reciprocating-piston machine presented is to have an altogether more compact construction. For this purpose, the blower is so designed and arranged on the reciprocating-piston machine and does not count as one of the contour-determining parts of the reciprocating-piston machine. <IMAGE>
