PURPOSE:To miniaturize the charging coil of a condenser charge and discharge type contactless ignition device, and obtain a constant voltage irrespective of the rotational speed by short-circuiting the charging coil and charging a condenser by a high voltage generated at the time of opening the circuit of the charging coil. CONSTITUTION:The half wave of the charging side of a condenser charging coil 3 is short-circuited through a transistor 12, which is interrupted by igniting a thyristor 14 at a given voltage, and a high voltage generated in the coil is charged into a condenser 6. A high voltage is generated in the secondary 7b of the ignition coil by letting a current flow through a route passing a resistance 21, the gate of a thyristor 10 and a diode 9 by the inverse half wave of the coil 3, igniting the thyristor 10 and letting the electric charge stored in the condenser 6 flow through the primary 7a of the ignition coil. Thereby, a condenser charging coil is miniaturized by winding the coil with a single big wire in small winding numbers, and an ignition device not affected by the number of rotation and being free from an ignition lag can be obtained. |
