PURPOSE:To provide a typewriter comprising a memory which memorizes the voice data of a word and a voice output circuit thereof which is capable of recognizing a word by means of its voice and generating the voice data of one word which was printed at last by the operation of a specific key. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard control circuit 7 retrieves a key 2a which was pushed down, and then sends out a code signal CS corresponding to the key 2a to a control circuit 8. The typewriter control circuit 8 sends out a print signal PS corresponding to the code signal CS to a typewriter drive unit 9 to cause it to print a character corresponding to the key 2a, and at the same time it also sends out code signal CS corresponding to characters to be printed to a buffer memory 10 to cause it to memorize those code signals in sequence. Upon completion of printing of one word, when a specific key 2b (space key, carriage return key, etc.) is operated, the keyboard control circuit 7 sneds out a key signal KS to the control circuit 8 to cause it to make a voice. |
