Fastened flap on the bell of the tenor or alto saxophone for producing the low "A", known in brief as: "A" flap. The "A" flap (1) is fastened on the bell (3) by means of a combined hinge/spring mounting (2) and connected to a lever (6) at the height of the thumb-holder (7) by a cable pull (4) which if appropriate runs via a roller (5). By actuating this movably fastened lever at the same time as "B" flat is played, the flap is lowered into the bell and the low "A" is obtained. When the lever is released, the flap opens by spring pressure or tension, according to the type of construction of (2). <IMAGE>
