PURPOSE:To omit a conventional auxiliary destaticizing means and to solve the problems of space in a machine, troubles in assembly and a cost by controlling the distaticization quantity of a destaticizing means and a transfer auxiliary destaticizing means in the pre-action of copying and irradiating an image carrier. CONSTITUTION:An electrifier 3 which electrifies the image carrier 1 with corona discharge by approaching the peripheral surface thereof is disposed above the image carrier 1 and the destaticizing means 4 which destaticizes the electrification of the image carrier 1 is disposed on the side of the electrifier 3. Moreover, a developing device 5 which supplies toner to the image carrier 1 to form a visible image is provided on the side of the image carrier 1. And a transfer means 6 for transferring the visible image formed on the image carrier 1 on copying paper and the transfer auxiliary destaticizing means 7 for improving the transfer efficiency of the means 6 are disposed below the image carrier 1. By controlling the destaticization quantity of the destaticizing means 4 and 7 to previously give fatigue to the image carrier 1, the electrification of the image carrier 1 is stabilized. Thus, the auxiliary destaticizing means is not necessitated and the problems of the space in the copying machine, the troubles in assembly and the cost can be solved. |
