摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a device and reduce the size by a method wherein a photodetector detecting a light from a light emitting device, conductors leading the output of the photodetector to a semiconductor switching device and the switching device changing its switching mode in accordance with the output of the photodetector are composed of thin films. CONSTITUTION:In a relay device 35, when a potential difference between terminals 36 and 37 exceeds a certain threshold, a light is emitted from a light emitting device 31 and detected by a photodetector 32. If the photodetector 32 detects the light, a potential difference between conductors 42 and 43 is increased and the switching mode of a transistor 27 is changed by the increased potential difference and the status between terminals 38 and 39 is switched between continuous and cut-off. As the photodetector 32 and the transistor 27 are formed on a same substrate 28, the size of the relay device 35 can be reduced. Moreover, as the photodetector 32, the transistor 27 and the conductors 42-44 can be formed in a common pattern forming process, a complicated assembly process is not necessary so that a manufacturing process can be substantially simplified.</p>
