PURPOSE:To prevent a spacer from being moved by external force and to improve the visibility and reliability by sticking a part of the spacer to one substrate side, and also, covering this spacer with an oriented film. CONSTITUTION:On an oriented film 5 of a first layer, a spacer 7 is placed, and also, only an orienting agent is applied by flexographic printing, etc., and thereafter, a substrate 1 is put into a furnace and dried or calcined, an oriented film 5A of a second layer is formed, and also, the whole of the spacer 7 is covered with this oriented film 5A of the second layer. In such a way, the spacer 7 is fixed firmly and surely, and thereafter, even at the time of rubbing processing executed as an orientation processing, peeling of the spacer 7 is not generated, and also, a movement of the spacer 7 caused by external force to the liquid crystal indicator can be prevented, and the visibility and reliability can be improved. |
