PURPOSE:To maintain the surface potential of a photosensitive material at an optimum value by correcting the control quantity of a control means which controls the driving power of a corona discharger for electrification by the detecting signal of a surface potential detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The surface potential detecting means 5 consisting of a detection electrode 6 and a surface potential measurement circuit 7 detects the surface potential of the photosensitive material, and the control means 2 controls the driving power of the corona discharger 4 for electrification by the detecting signal of the surface potential detecting means 5. Furthermore, a temperature detecting means 10 consisting of a temperature detector 8 and a temperature measurement circuit 9 detects the temperature of the surface potential detecting means 5, and a correcting means 14 corrects the control quantity of the control means 2 by the detecting signal of the temperature detecting means 10. In such a way, it is possible to maintain the surface potential of the photosensitive material 1 at the optimum value. |
