In a combinatorial method for obtaining a batch of articles, made up of a plurality of categories, each category of articles in the batch having a predetermined weight or consisting of a predetermined number of articles, a target value (Waa, Wba, Wca) for each category of articles is set and articles are supplied to a plurality of weighing machines, a group of which (CWA, CWB, CWC) is provided for each category of articles. For each category of articles and from all combinations of the weighing macnines supplied with that category of articles, a best combination, whose total value (weight or number) is equal to the target value set for that category or closest to the target value within preset allowable limits, is selected and the articles from those weighing machines corresponding to the best combination obtained for each category of articles are discharged, whereby a batch is obtained composed of the discnarged articles of the different categories. |
