发明名称 ELECTROTHERMAL TRANSFER MATERIAL
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable transfer recording of continuous gradations and enable recording of high-quality images which can be fixed, by providing a heat-fusible layer comprising a diazonium compound and a basic substance on one side of a base, providing thereon a microcapsule layer comprising a coupling agent for forming a color by reacting with the diazonium compound, and providing a conductive layer on the other side. CONSTITUTION:A heat-fusible layer comprising a diazonium compound 4 and a basic substance 5 is provided on one side of a base 3, a microcapsule layer 10 comprising porous microcapsules 8 containing therein a coupling agent 7 for forming a color by reacting with the diazonium compound is provided on the heat-fusible layer, and a conductive layer 2 is provided on the other side of the base. When electrothermorecording needles 13 are energized according to an image signal to be heated to temperatures T1, T2 and T3 (T1<T2<T3), the heat-fusible layer 6 of this electrothermal transfer material 1 is melted, the permeation quantity of the coupling agent 7 is controlled, and the melted layer developed into a color through reaction with the coupling agent 7 according to the quantities of thermal energy supplied from the needles 13 is transferred onto a recording sheet 12. Thus, high-quality images with continuous gradations are transfer-recorded which can be fixed by irradiating the recording sheet 12 with UV rays 14.
