PURPOSE:To excellently perform interpolation even when, for example, one channel becomes faulty out of plural channels by changing the dividing order at every field when picture information is transmitted by dividing the information into the plural channels at every line. CONSTITUTION:When picture information is transmitted in a state where the information is divided in the unit of line and transmitted at every channel, the dividing rule is changed at every field. When, for example, data are such that eight bits are respectively assigned to 16 picture elements, the transmitting data of one block quantity become 128 bits, but the data of the maximum-value and minimum-value picture elements of all picture elements in each block are transmitted in eight bits and the 3-bit data obtained by performing linear quantization on the picture elements between the maximum and minimum values in eight stages are respectively transmitted. Therefore, even when one channel becomes unable be used for transmission, the picture information can be supplemented from the preceding and following fields and, accordingly, an excellent picture can be reproduced. |
