<p>A gas laser includes a laser cavity (2), electrodes (18, 6) defining an electric discharge path through the cavity, at least one member (5) having a passage (7) therethrough having an open end which opens into the cavity and gas supply means (32) for injecting gas into the cavity through the passage which is arranged to allow free flow of gas therethrough. An electrically conducting surface (18) which defines one of the electrodes is provided inwardly of the perimeter of the open end of the passage and the perimeter of the open end of the passage is surrounded by material (13) electrically insulated from the electrically conducting surface.</p> |
