PURPOSE:To facilitate the alignment of a fiber sleeve by providing the reflecting surface being orthogonal to an optical axis on a part of the end face of the fiber sleeve and working only the periphery of the end face of an optical fiber so as to become oblique against the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:A fiber sleeve 10 with the reflecting surface having the reflecting surface 16 being orthogonal to an optical axis on the end face is placed so that a radiation light 7 of a laser diode LD is made incident on its reflecting surface 16. In this state, when the fiber sleeve 10 with the reflecting surface is moved in the optical axis direction, when a condensing point of the radiation light 7 of the LD has come onto the reflecting surface 16, an LD current 15 becomes minimum. Accordingly, by only monitoring the LD current 15, the condensing point of the radiation light 7 of the LD can be allowed to coincide with the end face of the fiber sleeve 10 with the reflecting surface. In such a way, by utilizing a return light to the LD of the LD radiation light 7, an optimum position in the optical axis direction of the fiber sleeve 10 can easily be detected. |
