A piston extruding press has a machine stand (9), in which there is mounted a pressing and extension frame (5, 6) which can be pivoted by means of drag bearings (10). In the pressing frame (5) there is mounted a first material cylinder (1) with a pressing mouthpiece (2). In the extension frame (6) there is mounted a second material cylinder (1') with a mouthpiece (2'). The second material cylinder (1') is filled while the first material cylinder (1) is pressed out. For filling, the material cylinders (1, 1') can be tilted into a favourable position using a tilting device (8, 8'). In order to be able to exchange the positions of the two material cylinders (1, 1') rapidly, there is provided an exchange device (7) which is provided with sockets (8.3) for the material cylinders (1, 1'), can be displaced axially by means of hydraulic cylinders (7.6) and can be twisted by means of a rotary drive (7.5). <IMAGE>
