发明名称 HIGH TEMPERATURE HIGH PRESSURE ELECTROLYTIC CELL OF GAS EXPULSION TYPE
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase the electrode surface area of a titled electrolytic cell, to decrease resistance loss and to improve perormance, by installing stepwise a number of stages of electrodes provided respectively with 3 stages of anodes and cathodes made of metals as well as guide vanes for expulsion of gases in tight contact with one surface and the other surface of a diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:An aq. alkali soln. is put an electrolytic cell and an anode terminal 22 and a cathode therminal 23 are connected to an electric power source. When electric current is flowed thereto, oxgen is generated in the anode and hydrogen is generated in the cathode and these gases are guide from an oxigen pipe 19 and a hydrogen pipe 18 to the outside. The liquid level is controlled automatically by an electric power source terminal 20 for control of the liquid level. The 1st anode 4, the 2nd anode 5 and the 3rd anode 6, as well as the 1st cathode 8, the 2nd cathode 9 and the 3rd cathode 10 are assembled by means of mounting fittings 13 made of metals, whereby the electrical resistance loss is limited only to the diaphragm resistance between the anode 4 and the cathode 8. The gases generated in the various electrodes are desorbed by guide vanes 7 made of metallic plates and the electrolytic cell is operated with high efficiency. The improvement in productivity and the production of high pressure oxygen and hydrogen are made possible by closing this device hermetically to develop high pressure therein.
