PURPOSE:To discriminate easily the state of a cable provided with an optical connector by using a transparent clamping nut and observing the state of a high- strength for from the outside when the nut is engaged threadably or after the threadable engagement is completed. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber cable 1 is fitted to the connector. The optical connector 5 consists of a clamp 6, fixed member 7, and the clamping nut 8. The clamp 6 has a through-hole 9, and equipped at a terminal with a holding member 10A provided to a terminal part 10 for holding an optical fiber 2, and its base end 11 is tapered. The fixed member 7 consists of an annular member and is engaged with the base end 11. The clamping nut 8 is capable of engaging the clamp 6 threadably by a screw part 12 formed at its tip side, and has a shoulder part 13 contacting the read end surface of the fixed member 7 at the internal circumferential wall; and it is made of a transparent member, so the state of the high-strength fiber 3 is observed from the outside. |
