<p>PURPOSE: To increase the processing speed by calculating an influence of illumination by plural same floating-point processing elements which are connected and operated in a pipe-line form. CONSTITUTION: An illumination model calculation system 12 is used which consists of four floating-point processing stages 20, 22, 24, and 26 which are connected in series and are operated in a pipeline form. First and second stages 20 and 22 are used for illumination model calculation, and the third stage 24 executes projection conversion and is used for mapping from a visual space to a screen space, and the fourth stage 26 is used for depth Cueing, color mapping, and color clipping. Since respective stages are individual processing units which execute specific functions simultaneously with one another, the processing speed is increased.</p> |
