<p>Plates and/or sheets of a thermoplastic material and of a covering, cut out to the desired formats in a unit (24), are stacked up on top of each other in a unit (26) for preparing the panel. They are then transferred into an oven (28) at a temperature for heating and bonding them together under a moderate contact pressure, after which the panel (10) is transferred to a thermocompression unit (20) followed by a machining unit (34).
