COMBINATIONAL SHAPE DEFINING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To easily and quickly obtain NC data by using outline definitions of base shapes to combine and define shapes. CONSTITUTION:An automatic programming device which generates NC data consists of a ROM 101, a processor 102, a RAM 103, an NC data storage memory 104, a keyboard 105, a display device (CRT) 106, a tablet device 108, and a menu table 108b, and already defied shapes 1-3, a graphic cursor GCS, and a question M are displayed on the CRT 106. When already defined shapes 1-3 are used to define a combinational shape, shapes which can be combined are successively described on the screen of the CRT 106 if a base shape is only designated, and an operator designates a desired shape to define the shape. Consequently, outline definitions of base shapes are used to combine and define shapes. Thus, NC data is easily and quickly obtained.
