PURPOSE:To obtain the title formed product having excellent resistance to water, solvent, acid, and alkali and mechanical strength by impregnating a formed product of a hydraulic inorg. material with a specified aq. emulsion. CONSTITUTION:The (meth)acrylic esters, an unsaturated monomer (e.g., glycidyl methacrylate) having a reactive functional group, and an unsaturated monomer (e.g., styrene) are emulsion-polymerized in the presence of 0.15-15wt.% emulsifier [e.g., polyoxyethylene(polyoxypropylene)alkyl phenyl ether] and 0.1-5wt.% polymerization initiator, based on the unsaturated monomer, to obtain an aq. emulsion having 10-60wt.% concn., <=100nm mean particle diameter, a glass- transition temp. higher than the value calculated by the gravimetric method, and <=-30mV zeta potential and maintaining excellent dispersion stability for a long period. The formed product of a hydraulic inorg. material is then impregnated with the aq. emulsion.
