PURPOSE:To reduce a shock in each switching time by disconnecting a lockup clutch provided in a torque converter, when a vehicle is switched to its two- wheel-drive control and four-wheel-drive control and when a center differential gear is switched in its free operation and lock operation. CONSTITUTION:An engine output is input to an input shaft 1 via a torque converter, providing a lockup clutch, and a main transmission, and a transmitting gear Z is provided to be arranged between the input shaft 1 and front and rear wheel drive shafts 3, 2. The transmitting gear Z is constituted of a subtransmission ST, center differential gear 5, two or more switching mechanisms 6, 7 and a transfer TF or the like. Here by the one switching mechanism 6, a torque transmitting route of the subtransmission ST is selected to high and low two stages. While by the other switching mechanism 7, differential action between the front and rear wheel drive shafts 3, 2 is controlled simultaneously a control is switched to two-wheel-drive operation and four- wheel-drive operation. When the control is switched to the two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive operation and when the center differential gear 5 is switched, the lockup clutch is disconnected.
