PURPOSE: To eliminate the relative rotation between a sealing ring and a stressing ring by making an outer surface of the sealing ring into a conical surface with the cone angle within a predetermined range, increasing an outer diameter of the sealing ring from the low pressure side to the high pressure side. CONSTITUTION: An outer surface of a sealing ring 5 is a conical surface with a cone angle β of 30-60 degrees. The diameter of the conical surface is continuously increased from the low pressure end to the high pressure end of the sealing ring 5. An outer diameter of a groove 4 arranged in a housing 2 is larger than a stressing ring 6, and the width of the groove 4 is slightly larger than the axial length of the sealing ring 5. The stressing ring 6 sealingly abuts one of the side surfaces of the groove 4. The axial pressure of the stressing ring 6 on the other side surface of the groove 4 is born by the sealing ring 5. A pressure relief groove 58 is arranged on the end surface at the high pressure side. Consequently, the stressing ring 6 is wedged in the gap between the side surface at the low pressure side of the groove 4 and the conical outer surface of the sealing ring 5, and pressed to the side surface at the high pressure side of the groove 4. |
