The adaptor comprises a pneumatic drive unit actuating the shaft coupling, preferably a membrane-type element (7) with which a control element cooperates (10). The invention consists essentially in that the control element (10) comprises at least one electropneumatic valve (11; 12), which on the one hand can be made to communicate with a depressurization line (13) and, by means of a constriction, with the atmosphere, and on the other hand is connected with a contact (15) associated with the accelerator paddle (3) or the butterfly valve (2), with a contact (16) associated with the gear shift lever (5), as well as with an electronic unit (14 and 19) for emitting signals, said unit emitting signals which are proportional to the engine rotation speed.
