In a wet settling tank for the preparation of coal or ores, in which air in a chamber 1 is pulsated, an auxiliary air pipe 7 is arranged to maintain a minimum pressure should the normal supply from pressure tank 12 fail. A valve 8 in pipe 7 is arranged to be automatically opened when air inlet and outlet valves 10, 11 are closed. The valve 8 is also connected (via line 9) to a probe in the air chamber 1 to detect the pulsations. <IMAGE> |
