PURPOSE:To obtain an insoluble electrode suitable for the electrolytic protection of a hot water boiler by forming the surface of an electrode with a flexible electrode material proof against hot water and by coating the electrode with a coating material having many holes all over the surface. CONSTITUTION:A Ti or Ti alloy base material 1a is plated with a noble metal 1b such as Pt or Pt-Ru to form a flexible electrode 1 proof against hot water. The entire surface of the electrode 1 is coated with a coating material 2 made of a soft, flexible insulating material 2a proof against hot water such as 'Teflon(R)' or polybutene to obtain an electrode for electrolytic protection. The coating material 2 is a tube 5 having many holes 4 or a netlike woven slender bag 6. The electrode for electrolytic protection can be used to prevent the corrosion of a boiler having a water course of a complex shape. |
