PURPOSE: To obtain a reinforced composite laminate by first evacuating a mold containing a fibrous component, and mounting a unit for receiving an overflowing volume of a polyisocyanurate resin forming component cast in the mold. CONSTITUTION: The method for making a high strength composite laminate comprises the steps of evacuating a mold containing a fibrous reinforcing material, this mold equipped with means for accepting an overflow volume of the component to meet a final volume of a polyisocyanurate resin forming component, casting the resin forming component of an excess amount of a necessity to fully fill the final volume to become the overflow volume in the evacuated mold, pressurizing the mold before a gelation of the resin forming component to reduce part of the overflow volume, and maintaining the pressure until the gelation occurs. In this case, a mat is placed in the mold by simply manually or a mechanical system before placing a mold cover. |
