PURPOSE:To increase the yield of the above-ground part of pasture glass with a safe and ecominical means, by scattering brassinolides on the leaf surface of growing pasture glass. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the leaf of growing pasture grass is treated with (A) brassinolides [e.g., brassinolide of formula I, its optical isomer or its analog (e.g., homobrassinolide of formula II or epibrassinolide of formula III) and, as necessary, (B) auxins such as alpha-naphthaleneacetic acid, indoleacetic acid, ethyl 5-chloroindazoleacetate or 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, preferably alpha-nahpthaleneacetic acid, by scattering. The yield of the above-ground part of pasture grass can be increased by about >=10% compared with the case free from the treatment with the component A. The active concentration of the component A can be decreased to <=1/10, in some cases 1/100 by the combined use of the component B. |
