The invention relates to a workplace module for the hanging production of clothing to set up a transporting system which is closed in itself for the hanging processing of clothing items, in particular in the sewing sectors. It can be used advantageously in industrial tailoring of outer garments. The aim of the invention is to achieve greater technological flexibility of the production units by the design of the transporting system and, at the same time, by lowering the complexity of transport to reduce the throughput times for each individual item and thus the circulating means associated with the transporting. The object of providing a workplace module and a transporting system formed therefrom for the hanging production of clothing, which module consists of a freely selectable tailoring machine and an associated transporting element and can be lined up to form a production unit, the transporting paths being considerably shorter compared to known systems, is achieved in that a tailoring machine is assigned a square transporting loop which surrounds said tailoring machine and consists of four rails. By means of four controllable switches located at the corner points, these rails can be connected to one another and to the rails of the adjacent workplace modules.
