PURPOSE:To minimize running resistance of a capsule in a capsule transport pipe comprising an inner pipe and an outer pipe fitted concentrically by allowing compressed air jetted into the inner pipe through a jet of the transport pipe to work as a static pressure bearing between the capsule and the inner pipe. CONSTITUTION:A capsule transport pipe 1 comprises an outer pipe 3 having a compressed air supply hole 5 and an inner pipe 2 on which a lot of compressed air jets 4 are formed. A capsule 6 circulating in the inner pipe 2 is formed by an inner cylindrival capsule body 7, a bottom plate 8, a cover 9 and a sleeve made of a synthetic resin such as an ethylene tetrafluoride resin with a small frictional coefficient. Compressed air supplied between the outer pipe 3 and the inner pipe 2 throug the supply hole 5 is jetted into the inner pipe 2 through each jet 4. When the capsule 6 is transported by transport air in such a condition, a gap alpha between the capsule 6 and the inner pipe 2 is caused to work a static pressure bearing by means of compressed air, so that the capsule 6 can be transported at a high speed with only the minimum running resistance. |
