PURPOSE: To provide the subject device for controlling air which passes the compressed air through a gas separator to separate nitrogen from ethylene, carbon dioxide and oxygen and operates at a low temp. CONSTITUTION: The gas from a storage region 1 is admitted through a filter 22 into a gas separator unit 23 by a compressor unit 15 with an air cleaner 12 where the ethylene, carbon dioxide and oxygen are separated by plural hollow pipes made of semipermeable membranes and are discharged from an outlet 24. The clean dry nitrogen is returned from an outlet 28 through an air cooler 17 to the storage region 1. The oxygen content decreases to <=2% and the ethylene to 10ppb to 50ppm and the carbon dioxide is removed.
