PURPOSE:To obtain practicable high sensitivity and potential stability characteristics during repeated uses by incorporating a specified azo pigment obtained by combining a specified organic group with an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group optionally through a bonding group in a photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on the conductive substrate contains at least one of the azo pigments obtained by combining a specified organic group with an optionally substituted aromatic hydrocarbon group or heterocyclic group optionally through a bonding group, and they are represented by formula I in which R1 is H, alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl; Ar1 is an aromatic hydrocarbon group, aromatic heterocyclic group; X is an organic group necessary to condense with the benzene ring to form an aromatic hydrocarbon ring or hetero ring, thus permitting superior sensitivity and potential stability during repeated uses for a long time. |
