CONSTANT SPEED RUNNING CONTROL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of L/U hunting by selecting a speed change pattern being wide in hysteresis width within which direct and indirect couplings are mutually changed over on the highest speed stage when running on the ascent road steeper then a fixed grade is detected during constant speed running control. CONSTITUTION:A computer 50 for speed change control has a microprocessor 51 which accepts a car speed and a throttle opening as input to make speed change control and L/U control as a main component, and functions to control a speed change solenoid 61 and a L/U solenoid 62 of an automatic speed change gear. An outside pattern selecting switch 63 selects the power and normal speed change patterns of MPU 51. On an ascent road where a vacuum pump 40 must be operated, the power pattern is selected to prevent L/U hunting by forming a line 70 which branches off from the output line of a gate 16 end joins the output line of a switch 63.
