摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten the visible distance of a huge display unit by providing a plurality of electron gun sections in a vacuum envelope, providing cylindrical metal structures coated with phosphors emitting various luminous colors inside, and providing a conductive portion in the vacuum envelope corresponding to a phosphor surface so as to apply a voltage lower than that of the phosphor surface. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of electron gun sections 4 are arranged, e.g., at three places 120 deg. apart from each other in a vacuum envelope 1, and each metal structure 12 is formed in a cylindrical shape with a fan-like cross section and phosphors emitting luminous colors such as red, green, and blue are coated inside. When the phosphors 2a formed on the metal structure 12 emit predetermined luminous colors caused by the electron beam 10, the electron beam 10 is efficiently radiated to the phosphor surface 2a because the conductive portion 13 made of a transparent conductive film is applied with a voltage lower than that applied to the phosphor surface 2a, thus a color tone equivalent to that obtained with three conventional CRTs is available with one CRT, thereby its visible distance can be largely reduced.
