The control uses the monitored temp. within the cooking vessel to allow regulation of the heating element for the latter with the actual cooking time determined via a variable timing element. The latter is switched into operation to begin the timed cooking interval upon the required cooking temp. being reached with the detected rate of increase of the temp. during the heating up phase used to correct the cooking interval. Pref. the temp. is measured via a sensor within the cooking vessel transmitting a temp. signal to a receiver providing control signals proportional to the detected temp..
