PURPOSE:To obtain the subject ceramic having stabilized crystal structure and excellent superconducting characteristics in good reproducibility, by using a given amount of Y oxide, BaF2 or YF3, one selected from BaO, BaCO3, Ba(OH)2 and BaCl2, SrCO3 and CuO or CrF2 as a starting raw material, molding and calcining. CONSTITUTION:Each of Y oxide, BaF2 or YF3, one selected from BaO, BaCO3, Ba(OH)2 and BaCl2, SrCO3 and CuO or CrF2 is collected, weighed and blended so as to give a desired composition ratio. The prepared blended powder of a starting raw material is calcined in atmosphere or oxidizing atmosphere at 800-1,000 deg.C. Then, the calcined material is ground, blended and, as necessary, calcination, grinding and blending are repeated to give fine powder. The fine powder, for example, is press molded under 500-2,000kg/cm<2> to give a molded article of desired shape. Then, the molded article is burnt in air or oxidizing atmosphere at 800-1,100 deg.C to give a superconducting ceramic having a composition shown by the formula (0<x<=2; 0<delta<0.5). |
