IMAGE RECEIVING LAYER TRANSFER SHEET

PURPOSE:To enable an image with a constant hue to be formed by transferring without being affected by a hue inherent in a substrate to be subjected to transfer, by releasably providing a transfer layer having at least an image receiving layer and one or more colored layer on a substrate sheet. CONSTITUTION:In an image receiving layer transfer sheet 4 with a releasable transfer layer 3, as a substrate sheet 1 supporting an image receiving layer 2 and serving as a material to be coated with the image receiving layer 2, a sheet having a high tensile strength and such a heat resistance withstand the heat normally applied in transfer is preferably used. The image receiving layer 2 is composed of a resin having good dying properties and exhibiting a superior shelf stability of a transferred image formed on the image receiving layer 2. If the transfer layer 3 is composed of the image receiving layer 2 only, the image receiving layer 2 is required to be colored by the addition of a coloring agent. It is desirable that the image receiving layer 2 be previously provided with a surface releasability so as not to thermally fuse to a dye transfer layer under heat; the releasability can be imparted to either or both of the surface of the dye layer of the transfer sheet and the surface of the image receiving layer 2 on the side of the substrate sheet 1.
