PURPOSE:To obtain a nonwoven fabric having excellent deodorizing capacity, by incorporating an acrylic fiber having a transition metal bonded to an anionic functional group. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing nonwoven fabric is constituted by containing an acrylic fiber having the transition metal bonded to an anionic functional group. The fiber having the anionic functional group is an acrylic fiber (fiber A) having a carboxyl group represented by -COOX(wherein X is H, Li, Na K or NH4) or/and a sulfonate group represented by -SO3Y(wherein Y is H, Li, Na, K or NH4). The fiber wherein the transition metal is bonded to the functional group of said acrylic fiber is a deodorizing acrylic fiber becoming the raw material of the nonwoven fabric. As the transition metal, there are copper, iron, nickel, cobalt, chromium, rhodium, palladium and platinum. The anionic functional group contained in the fiber A is 0.2mmol/g or more and, when said functional group is less than said amount, the bonding amount of the transition metal is reduced and it is difficult to develop excellent deodorizing capacity. The content of the transition metal bonded to the anionic functional group is necessarily 0.1mmol/g or more and, when said content is less than said amount, effect as deodorizing capacity is not almost developed. |
