PURPOSE:To improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance by forming a hard chromic plating film composed of amorphous substance at least on one sliding surface. CONSTITUTION:A hard chromic plating film 3 composed of amorphous substance is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the base material 2 of a vane 1 as one example of sliding members for a compressor. Sintered alloys and cast iron shall be normally used as the base material 2 of the vane. Plating solution wherein formic acid is added to chromic acid and sulpheric acid shall be used for plating so as to form the hard chromic plating film 3. The synergetic effect of a highly hardened film and an amorphous film can concur rently satisfy the requirements of wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
