PURPOSE:To obtain a material to be recorded for a highly detailed image made low-dusting and capable of being prepared in low cost, in the material to be recorded wherein an ink receiving layer consisting of a silicon-containing pigment and a binder is provided on base paper, by specifying a Stockigt sizing degree, the ash content of the base paper and the hydrophobic structure part in the binder. CONSTITUTION:In a material to be recorded wherein an ink receiving layer consisting of a silicon-containing pigment and a binder is provided on base paper in an amount of 0.5-8g/m<2>, a Stockigt sizing degree is 1-15sec, the ash content of the base paper due to JIS-P-8128 is 2-15% and 5-50mol.% of a hydrophobic structure is provided in said binder. As the binder to be used, a resin having proper hydrophobicity or a combination of a hydrophilic resin and a hydrophobic resin in a proper ratio is pref. and, as the resin having proper hydrophobicity, polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of 75% or less is designated and, as the hydrophilic resin, there are perfectly saponified polyvinyl alcohol and starch. As the hydrophobic resin, polyvinyl acetate and polyacrylic ester are designated. |
