Armour plate

An armour plate for strongboxes, safes and the like comprises a baseplate, on which a deep-drawn sheet is fastened. On the deep-drawn sheet, a large number of pockets is formed, which by regions extend into the holes of a perforated armour sheet. The perforated armour sheet itself comprises in this case a ductile basesheet as well as a high-alloy, hard wear layer. The interspaces between the perforated armour sheet, the deep-drawn sheet and the baseplate, in particular the inner spaces of the pockets, are filled with a mixture of a fireproof powder and hard particles (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
