The outlets (2) of the waste-gas ducts of two mutually adjacently arranged, burner-heated appliances, e.g. water heaters (1), open into a common waste gas-collecting box (4) with a waste-gas outlet (8) which can be connected to a chimney or similar waste-gas discharge. This waste-gas outlet (8) can be assigned a flow safety means common to both appliances (1), which can consist of an extension (5) of the collecting box (4) or is designed as an opening (6) arranged in the bottom of the waste gas-collecting box (4). <IMAGE>
